During Women's History month, we celebrate the achievements of women in history and recognize the valuable contributions women make in the workplace today. March is a great time to reflect on how far we have come and how much work is left to be done to achieve equality for all women.

Not sure how to manage your employee events? Book time with us to learn how Five to Nine can help.

Here are four ideas for everyone in your organization to get involved in the celebration:

1. (IRL or Virtual) "Ask Me Anything" coffee chats

Each week during Women's History month, host an AMA coffee chat with different women in your organization. From ICs to VPs, employee experience to engineers - this is a great way to learn from the diverse women that make up your workplace, allowing them to share their unique perspectives that contribute to your organization's culture.

Tips

  • Support a woman-owned coffee brand like Chicago French Press to fuel these conversations!
  • Use a pre-event survey in Five to Nine to easily collect questions for the speakers before the event starts.

2. (IRL or Virtual) International Women’s Day event

Whether you’re a global company or your workforce is made up of global diversity, International Women’s Day is the perfect time to honor all the women in your organization. Honor this year’s theme #EmbracingEquity with these ideas:

  • Invite a keynote speaker to share on the topic of equity
  • Cater an in-office luncheon with a globally diverse menu
  • Host professional development or leadership equity workshops

Tips

3. (IRL or Virtual) Happy Hour

Curate an in-office happy hour featuring women-owned spirits, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages. Take the time to recognize the women in your organization with a toast honoring their contributions, achievements, and invaluable impact on your workplace.

Tips

  • ReserveBar allows you to filter their selections to find women-owned brands.
  • Make it fun: have employees submit songs to an all-woman playlist to play during happy hour!

4. (IRL) Day of Service

Give employees the opportunity to give back to a cause that supports women’s rights, education, and empowerment.

Suggestions

  • Partner with a local women’s shelter to provide packed lunches and toiletry kits
  • Organize a community walk, raising funds to donate to a women’s organization
  • Host an in-office workshop, providing resume reviews and skill development sessions for under-resourced women

Don’t forget: You can book time with our team to ask any Five to Nine platform questions and learn how we're helping employee experience and ERG teams plan and brainstorm their 2023 event and program strategy.
